Any Windows computer can be a PLUX till.
No special hardware. Use a laptop, desktop or touchscreen PC with Windows 10 or 11. Works best at 1366×768 or larger.
Option 1 — Install from the browser
Recommended · updates itself automatically
- 1. Open plux.africa/pos in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome and sign in.
- 2. A manager registers the computer: Settings → Terminals → Register this computer (e.g. “POS 01”).
- 3. Click Install PLUX POS (top bar), or the install icon in the address bar.
- 4. Launch PLUX POS from the Start menu or desktop — it opens straight into the POS.
Option 2 — PLUX POS desktop app
For direct receipt printing to a chosen printer
- The same PLUX POS in its own window
- Prints receipts silently to the Windows printer you pick (Ctrl+Shift+P), or straight to a thermal ESC/POS printer set up in Printer setup (beta)
- Full-screen mode (F11), customer display on a second screen
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may say “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info → Run anyway.
Good to know
- The restaurant POS keeps working when the internet drops, once it has been opened online on that computer: new orders and cash payments are saved on the device and sent when you are back online. Card, transfer and changes to existing orders need a connection. Other business types' screens need a connection.
- Staff sign in on a registered terminal with their own 4–6 digit PIN (set in My account → Terminal PIN). Every order, payment and void is recorded with the branch, terminal and person.
- Keyboard: F2 search · F4 open orders · F8 send to kitchen · F9 take payment · F10 new order. At the restaurant POS, USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners work as keyboards and add the item whose barcode they read.
